According to indieWIRE Box Office Tracking (iW BOT) estimates from Rentrak this afternoon, Tia Lessin and Carl Deal's Sundance winner, "Trouble the Water," looks to lead the iW BOT, averaging $9,427 from 3 screens for a $28,281 total. That total was overwhelming from the doc's IFC Center engagement, were it grossed $21,501. At the Regal Westpark 8 in Irvine, California, the Zeitgeist release managed just $1,266. Another Sundance alum, Andrew Fleming's "Hamlet 2," opened below rather huge expect

The BBC, CNN, CBC Newsworld and other all-news broadcasters covered scarcely anything but the narrowly averted catastrophe throughout the day. Funny thing, but the general public wasn't buying it. The reaction was surprisingly cynical...
